In your opinion, when California legalizes marijuana will the federal government over turn the ban on pot?

When (yes when) California legalize marijuana, in your opinion, do you think the federal government will repeal their ban on marijuana, ignore California all together, or punish them severely. IMO, I think the latter is very unlikely the public opinion is greatly changing as this issue becomes more and more publicized in current events.
