How fast do ground cover daylilys spread?

I planted bare root Daylilies late spring. All came up and are growing as I expected, but one has started to spread over a three foot circle with HUNDREDS of shoots closely clumped together. Whereas most ot the others started blooming, this one is just profusely spreading. Do I have a mutant??
